Iceland Arena is a state-of-the-art, 4-pad ice complex located on 160 acres of land in north-east Mississauga, Ontario. Iceland offers many features such as an Olympic-sized ice surface (Rink 1), along with 3 other recreational-sized ice rinks (Rink 2, 3, and 4).
INFORMATION DESIGN III MAPPING & NETWORKS
DIGITAL SCREEN & PRINT
JANUARY - FEBRUARY 2018 (5 WEEKS)
ILLUSTRATOR & PHOTOSHOP
This project aims to demonstrate the various senses one would experience at Iceland Arenas. Through smell, sight, sound and movement, I aimed to visualize them in a non-traditional way.
BRAINSTORMING & recording
I visited Iceland Arena to record the different sounds, sights, smells and movements as well as keeping track of the movements happening around me.
SKETCHES & LAYOUTS
I didn't want to do the "mainstream" radiating circles to represent sound or the radiating abstract shapes to demonstrate smell.
At first I started designing smell and sound the way everyone else was, but eventually wanted to create a more abstract design.
